How does your grub treatment work?
Our treatments are preventative treatments and focus on killing young grubs in the larva stage when they hatch in the summer.
Grubs have a one year life cycle. The grubs that are in your lawn in the spring will pupate (tranform into adult) this summer and spread their eggs, then die. We do our treatments in the spring and this allows time for the product to be absorbed by the grass roots. As the eggs hatch in the summer the larva feed on these roots, ingesting the product and killing them. When we apply the treatment in the spring, the treatment will kill some of the larger grubs that have been in your lawn throughout the winter, but overall is much more effective on killing the larva that hatch in the summer.
The treatment will guarantee a damage free lawn the next fall and through to the spring.
Do I need to water my lawn after treatment?
After application a light watering if no rain is expected that day will help the product disperse into the soil
What are the best times for application?
The best times for applications are April-May. This gives the product time to absorb into the soil and be taken up by the roots of the grass. The grubs hatch in the summer and start feeding on the roots from late summer into fall. Once ingested, the grub's muscle system is attacked, leading to paralysis then death.
Are your treatments safe?
Our treatments are completely safe for people, pets and non target organisms such as honey bees. Municipalities and golf courses throughout the lower mainland use the same products as we do to treat their fields.
Can I purchase the same products you use and apply it myself?
Our products are only available to certified applicators.
Will I see crows on my lawn next fall and spring?
Birds and animals that are used to foraging on grubs in your lawn are creatures of habit. They might do a check for grubs as they remember them being there in the past. Once they realize they don't have an easy meal there anymore, they will quickly move on, looking for a lawn that does.
How often do I need to apply a treatment?
Treatments only need to be applied once a year in the spring to ensure year-long coverage. We highly recommend doing it every year in the spring to prevent the grubs from returning the following year.
